Drinkin' and Swearin' like a sailor...

This month makes 4 years since I became a restaurant manager and two things are for certain:

1. A swear a hell of a lot more than I did before I took this job
2. A drink a hell of lot more than I did before I took this job.

I'm not at all surprised by this. I almost expected it. Perhaps it's become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Anyone else have this experience?

  1. No! I don't drink anymore nor cuss anymore since you became a restaurant manager. I've pretty much stayed static.

But I will say that since I retired I NEVER take Rolaids or Tums anymore. It is so soothing to not have other peoples careers and lives in your hands.

  2. I swear more since I started to work for the post office. I also shop and vote based primarily on who has the least annoying mailings. :)

okay... kidding on the voting thing, I do look at the issues, but the less annoying their political mail is, the better.

  3. I've always been a "potty mouth" but since I've been bartending full time the past 2 years, I don't think I can say a "clean" sentence.

  4. I never swore growing up. When I hit school and my internship, I still wanted to be a minimalist swearer. But they were mercilessly cruel and turned me into this angry, bitter person. Throughout the years I've sworn more and more and my husband hates it, I try to stop it by saying things like "Lady!" instead of "Bitch" and various silly words instead of foul ones. Now at work they think I'm this naive white girl, so I guess we cant ever win :p

Still curse all the time though.
